How old should my child be before starting lessons?
Students usually start around age 10 and up but some have started as early as five. Ultimately, it depends on the child. If they have a good sense of rhythm and can concentrate longer than other kids their age, they stand a good chance of getting a head start learning to play the drums.

What if I don't have my own set of drums?
You don't need to own a set of drums to start taking lessons at
DRUM SCHOOL. All you need is a pair of sticks and a desire
to learn. You will, however, need a mounted practice pad and
a stand to hold your music because DRUM SCHOOL students learn to
count and sight read drum notation. After sufficient progress
has been made, Steve will then inform you or the student's parents
that it's time to invest in a starter drum set .

Can I buy drums through you at a discount?
DRUM SCHOOL does not sell drum sets. However, Steve will gladly recommend several drum set options based on the student's age,
demonstrated proficiency on the instrument and type of music they play.

Do I have to sign a contract for a certain number of lessons?
While some music enterprises insist that parents sign a contract for a designated number of lessons, all DRUM SCHOOL lessons are pay as you go.

What Does it Take to Be a Good Drummer?
The old saying that you get out of things what you put into them still rings true, especially when it comes to drumming.
Keeping solid time, playing a proficient roll or executing a timely fill does not happen by accident. These are achieved through dedication and diligent practice.
Learning to play the drums is a challenge, of course, but it's also fun and rewarding. Eager students with a desire to learn and willingness to work soon discover that what they thought was a difficult task can now be accomplished.
Whatever their skill level, young drummers will be able to improve their playing ability under Steve's guidance.
